Doo-wop harmonies and 1950s rock and roll are the starting point for Dick Smithers and the Doo-Wops. The Sydney band draws on performers including Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Fats Domino, with rockabilly and early pop also in the set. Their song list ranges from Earth Angel to Tutti Frutti and Rock Around the Clock. Formed in 2012, the group builds its performances around music made for getting up and dancing.
