Joe Canni and Anthony Maisano use voices and guitars to rework pop, rock and jazz as The Fortyfives. The Melbourne duo performs without backing tracks, leaving room for improvisation and vocal harmonies. Their repertoire reaches from 1950s and 1960s songs through to later disco and synth-pop favourites, all treated acoustically. Cocktail bars, corporate events and formal occasions are among the settings for a performance that puts familiar songs into a smaller, guitar led form.
