Dave Johnson

Dave Johnson performs Australian bush songs and ballads, accompanying his singing with guitar, concertina or banjo. His work explores stories of convicts, railway workers, shearers and other figures from Australia's past. Based in Penrose in the Southern Highlands, he also plays fiddle, calls dances and leads music workshops. Themed presentations include convict songs and railway songs, while his wider work includes arranging ensemble music and helping younger musicians learn traditional repertoire.
