Flute meets marimba, vibraphone and percussion in Jamarah. Mary Broughton, Jeremy Barnett and Sarah Broughton form the Sydney trio, drawing on jazz, world music and contemporary classical influences. Their programme also includes improvised ambient music, allowing the instruments to interact beyond fixed arrangements. Sarah's flute supplies a sustained melodic voice against the different percussion textures, while the three musicians share percussion roles across a chamber performance built around this particular combination of sounds.
