Silk Road Tribal Collective brings live music and tribal bellydance together in Brisbane. The collaboration joins The Firedrakes with dancers from Anukara and Silk Road Rebellion. Oud, guitar, percussion and vocals accompany movement using props such as veils, swords, fans and baskets. The group can present a larger ensemble or a more intimate format. Its performance history includes Woodford Folk Festival, Brisbane Fringe Festival and Welcome Fest, with material drawing on Middle Eastern and other musical influences.
