Bushwahzee
Based in Melbourne
About this act
Bushwahzee grew out of a production of Reedy River in the early 1980s. The Melbourne bush band combines Australian folk songs with dance calling, with a repertoire that includes Eric Bogle's The Band Played Waltzing Matilda and Banjo Paterson's Clancy of the Overflow. Its school performances draw on the musicians' teaching backgrounds. Fiddle, guitar and percussion feature in the band's sound, while arrangements leave room for audience participation. Bushwahzee's performance history includes Australian touring and appearances in Singapore.
