Jill-A-Roo

Jill-A-Roo combines a kangaroo puppet with a performer on sprung stilts. The kangaroo’s head and arms move, and its joey forms part of an interactive appearance where guests can approach the character. The Melbourne act is presented by Emma Kenyon of Stilt Story. She offers the character for festivals, children’s events and Australian-themed celebrations. A Christmas variation, Elf-A-Roo, adds an elf rider and seasonal decoration. The performance uses bouncing movement and puppetry to bring the oversized kangaroo into contact with the audience.
