Melbourne guitarist and composer Shigeo Furukawa draws on jazz and fingerstyle playing. His musical path has taken him from Japan to study in New York and then to Australia, with experience performing in cafes, restaurants and live music venues. Influences include Chet Atkins, Django Reinhardt and Tommy Emmanuel. His repertoire brings together jazz favourites, film melodies and pop songs, including music by the Beatles and Stevie Wonder, arranged around the expressive possibilities of solo guitar.
