About this act
Bahja presents tribal-style bellydance performances and workshops in Brisbane and at regional events. Its movement draws on Middle Eastern dance and flamenco influences, with group formations, sword work and finger cymbals among the available subjects.
Workshops can introduce basic movements or explore more advanced techniques, costuming and music. The team works with community groups, festivals and private gatherings, including hens’ celebrations. Sessions are planned around participants’ experience, and can incorporate drumming or henna activities alongside the dancing.
