Live beats, turntables and horns in the same room. EON Trio pairs nu jazz and acid jazz playing with DJ Jeremy Kirschner's Ableton Live work, so the loops, acapellas and effects land underneath real playing rather than replacing it. Saxophonist Rick Robertson leads, a founding member of D.I.G and Eon, with Mo and APRA awards to his name and festival and club dates from New York and Berlin through to Hong Kong and Auckland. Drummer Ian Mussington came via London and five years touring the States. The group has played Darling Harbour Jazz Festival and Vibes on a Summers Day, with regular nights at Opera Bar, Astral Bar, The Loft and Cruise Bar. Line ups run DJ, sax and congas, or add female vocals.
