Eric Downer is a DJ from Byron Bay, New South Wales.
More than three decades behind the decks trace back to Eric Downer's start in the warehouse raves and radio waves of early-90s Kitchener, Ontario, a short drive from Detroit's techno scene. A move to London, Ontario, and a job at a leading record store there put him in the position of connecting artists, labels and DJs, pushing sounds from Toronto, Berlin, Chicago and Detroit out to the people shaping the scene. In Toronto his sets grew to take in ambient, minimal, techno and deep house before settling into a genre-agnostic style. Since relocating to Australia he has continued to host and play events, sold vinyl at Bangalow's Flo Records, and hosts Sound Streams, his show on Byron Bay's 99.9 Bay FM.
