Eric Downer

More than three decades behind the decks, and Eric Downer's story tracks the whole evolution of underground electronic music. He started in early nineties Kitchener, Ontario, a short drive from Detroit, then worked in a leading record store in London, Ontario, connecting artists, labels and DJs and pushing sounds from Detroit, Chicago, Berlin and Toronto into the right hands. His own sound has stretched across deep house, techno, minimal and ambient into something genre-agnostic. Now in Australia, he plays and hosts events, sells vinyl at Flo Records in Bangalow, and curates Sound Streams on Byron Bay's 99.9 Bay FM.
