Etherea

Electric harp, electric cello and a voice, layered live. Etherea is Emily Rosner on harp and vocals with Anita Quayle on cello, and the two use looping and light effects to build atmospheric arrangements from what starts as a single line. Jazz standards, soul classics and current songs all get the same treatment, reworked in a style that's intimate up close and surprisingly big in a large room. Both have long backgrounds in live events and the wedding industry, which shows in how they handle a day: soft ambient music for a ceremony, then a proper feature performance later on if that's wanted. There's an acoustic version as well as the electric one, so the sound can suit the venue and the budget of noise the neighbours will tolerate. Based at East Warburton in Victoria.
