Exeter Blues is Dave O'Leary and Beej Barker. O'Leary sings laconic and straight, with an honesty that gets under your skin, and Barker builds driving rhythms and grooves underneath. The result is raw and raucous, sitting somewhere between early Mississippi delta slide guitar, modern punk funk and Cajun country. These are story songs, built out of a life spent on the road, drawn from six albums of originals plus a few interpretations of songs by The Cruel Sea, Beck, Bob Dylan, Little Walter and Tom Waits.
