Gypsy jazz guitar, violin, accordion and French lyrics. Gatsby Jazz play the Brisbane quartet version of music you would hear drifting out of a Paris cafe on a slow afternoon. The influences are stated plainly enough: Django Reinhardt, Josephine Baker, Edith Piaf, with New Orleans, Manouche, bal musette and chanson feeding into the mix. It swings, but it never shouts, which is why it works so well over cocktails and pre dinner drinks. Weddings, corporate functions and private parties around Brisbane.
