About this act
Dr Judy Ford ran genetics laboratories for around 25 years, published widely, and gave interviews to the BBC, CBC and NBC along the way. Five years followed doing speaking work and acting as an expert in legal matters, then she went back to the University of South Australia, where her job was teaching PhD students how to explain science well. Her talks cover natural fertility, reducing cancer risk, breaking cycles of stress, optimising health, and stories from a working scientist's life, including Chernobyl five years on. Sessions can be pitched general, or narrowed to a specific cancer, or split male-only and female-only. Humour does a lot of the work here, particularly on the harder subjects. Judy speaks to conferences, community audiences and support groups, and asks for a good projector and screen.
