Geraldine Cox

Geraldine Cox founded and presides over Sunrise Cambodia, an organisation built around sustainable community development for some of the country's most vulnerable children. Based in Cambodia's Kandal province, she mentors the children in the organisation's care and works with sponsors and donors supporting its learning centres. Her speaking engagements have taken her to the National Press Club in Canberra, the Sydney Institute and the United Nations-sponsored University Leadership Scholars Symposium in Bangkok. Ernst & Young nominated her for its Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Social category for South Australia, and she sits on the Humanitarian Affairs Advisory Board in the UK and the International Advisory Board of Oasis Africa Australia. Cox co-founded the orphanage at the centre of her Cambodia work in 1993, after an earlier career with Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs.
