Born in New Zealand, now based in Melbourne, this singer songwriter found his feet in cover bands before building a sound of his own. Led Zeppelin, Michael Jackson and James Brown shaped the way he performs, and the James Brown connection ran deep enough that in 2009 he fronted an eight piece tribute to the man. The music sits somewhere between rock, jazz, funk and straight acoustic, held together by vocals with real weight behind them. Solo and acoustic, or looped into something bigger. Either way the funk stays in it.
