Gonz owns Papa Disquo Records and plays in the Inner West Reggae Disco Crew, and has been behind a good many go-go nights and soul clubs over the years. Running a label, playing in a crew and putting on the nights themselves is a deeper involvement than most DJs have with the music they play. Reggae, disco and soul are the ground here, and it comes from someone who has spent years building the scene around it rather than turning up to it.
