A roots collective from Coffs Harbour with festival and venue miles across Australia and New Zealand. Singer and guitarist Brett Davey carries deep, soulful tones with a Maori soul feel, woven through with harmonies from Bella Whenua-Whopper. Paul Note-Nui handles keys and sax, Brenno Bundjabass brings ancestral harmonies and solid bass, and Honky Redbeard sits behind the drums as a self-described forefather of swamp beat. When Be Rude joins on percussion the whole thing tips towards a Cuban drum circle. Blues, funk, reggae and soul, played by a band that has clearly logged the hours together.
