Gus Abiz

Brazilian-born, Sydney-based, and 14 years into the work. Gus Abiz plays weddings, corporate events and private functions, and what he does best is match the music to the moment: warm and low while people are talking, then something that gets them up when the energy is there. His set mixes well-known covers with his own compositions, and he'll shape it around a theme or an era if you ask. He also runs music programs in hospitals and for vulnerable communities, which tells you something about how he thinks about a room. He needs about two metres square, and can bring his own PA for smaller events. He holds a New South Wales Working with Children Check and public liability insurance.
