Guy Kachel was born in Tamworth and raised on the banks of the Peel River, and that landscape fed an imagination that later powered a performing career. He watched the rustic world around him change as Tamworth grew into an inland city, and saw friends grow into sometimes troubled adulthoods. Those observations are what the songwriting draws on. Byron Bay based now, and the material is grounded in something real rather than assembled.
