Harlen

Two players who have both toured widely and happen to be in Queensland at the moment. Jess Harlen sings neo-soul, Sarah Koppen plays guitar, and their song choices run from Motown forward with stops through the 80s and 90s on the way. The songs are the kind you find yourself singing halfway through a sentence. Because their time on stage together is limited, the sets have a particular energy to them, a sort of contagious joy that you don't get from an act grinding out the same night every week. Harlen Duo are a proud representation of Women of Colour, and the musicianship is the real draw.
