Ian Dowling

Irish stand-up and MC based on the Gold Coast, Ian Dowling has played the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Sunshine Coast Comedy Festival, and a fair few outback mining towns in between. Then there's Immigrant on the Run, his 2024 tour, where he ran 100km up to Brisbane, did a sold-out hour on stage that night, and ran the whole 100km back the next day for a second show. It raised money for local homeless charities. His working life before comedy covered construction, mining, real estate, fitness and corporate sales, which is a useful background for reading a room. Black-tie awards nights, warm-up sets, hosting duties: he'll respect the brief and still get the laughs. All he needs is a microphone and a PA.
