Quarter Street draws its salsa sound from New York in the 1970s. A trombone section sits over a driving rhythm section, with Eddie Palmieri, Ray Barretto and Héctor Lavoe among the influences. Formed in Melbourne in 2011, the band focuses on the direct, streetwise feel of classic salsa.
