The harp does most of the persuading. Janita Billingham has over a decade of professional playing behind her, moving between classical, contemporary and Celtic material with a bright, expressive tone that fills a room without any help. Weddings, funerals, corporate events and morning melodies all sit within her range, and she'll tailor the performance to whatever the day needs, right down to the costume. On request she performs as a duo, harp against the guitar of Brisbane jazz player Rory Dollard. For weddings there's a list of popular choices available. The harp needs shade and dry, stable ground, and a hand on site if the only way in is up a flight of stairs. She can amplify, though the instrument usually carries a space on its own.
