Winning APRA Songwriter of the Year in 2010 set Jesse Emmanuel on her way, and she moved to the Gold Coast to do music full time. What followed was over a decade of cover bands and DJ work, gigging up to six nights a week, before she formed the band Hinterland. Hinterland went on to score several number one singles on the country charts and a number one EP. That much stage time in that many rooms produces a performer who has genuinely seen it all.
