Joe Man Murphy

Joe Man Murphy was born in England and now works out of Queensland, playing folk-roots built on storytelling, big vocals and genuinely fine instrumental work. He's played Woodford, the National Folk Festival and Palm Creek among many others. He founded the theatrical folk band Gypsy Rumble, toured nationally with them and wrote shows performed at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, and as a long-time member of The Timbers co-wrote two albums and toured widely. The live shows pull an audience into shared rhythm and story rather than leaving them watching from a distance.
