Two years of steady gigging and more than fifty Brisbane venues later, Josh Betts has a solo act that goes two ways. One side is stripped back and soulful, just voice and guitar on a ballad. The other builds disco classics up in layers with a loop pedal until a single performer sounds like a full arrangement. Watching him assemble one of those from nothing is half the appeal. Based in Meanjin, Brisbane, and comfortable in a room that wants either mood.
