Junkyard Beats is a drumming group from Sydney, New South Wales.
Everyday objects become instruments in Junkyard Beats, a Sydney performance group, which fuses drumming, dancing, comedy and recycling into one routine. Kitchen drumming, body percussion, break-dancing and even fire drumming performed with wheelie bins all sit inside a set built to flex between corporate events, festivals, weddings and private parties. Circus skills and humorous skits thread through the percussion work, and the group also runs a separate production, the Kids Beats show, staged inside a fictional junkyard where three characters sort found materials into music. Routines are built to be customised per booking, with audience interaction, tap-dancing and drumming among the options.
