Gold record Little Eve, platinum record Curiouser and the ARIA-charting Nightflight built a career within a major label before a fourth solo album, O Vertigo!, was funded independently by fans within three days. That album marked the first time Kate Miller-Heidke wrote the majority of the songs solo, recorded in Melbourne with engineer and co-producer John Castle, and the first to bring in guest vocalists: Passenger on Share Your Air, Drapht on Drama, and Megan Washington on Ghost. The tracklist moves between pop, ballads and rhythm-driven songs such as Jimmy and Drama.
