Kate holds a Bachelor of Performance and Theatre and worked as an emcee on Princess Cruises, hosting parties and events for crowds of up to 300. She now works in event management, so the running sheet, the timings and the small things that quietly go wrong behind the scenes are all familiar territory. On stage, the job isn't reading announcements. It's reading the room, connecting with people and keeping the night warm while the schedule holds.
