Katie Thorne was born and raised in the red dirt of rural New South Wales on Wiradjuri Country, and is now based in Bondi. She sings, writes and plays guitar, and the sound is smokey old soul and R&B with a modern pop edge, somewhere between Norah Jones and Amy Winehouse. That combination of a country upbringing and an old soul voice gives the songs a character neither influence would produce alone.
