About this act
Katra is a belly dancer from Sydney, New South Wales.
Middle Eastern dance is the foundation here, built on contemporary training blended with gypsy and Egyptian styles into a style of its own. Sword balancing and veil work sit alongside the core belly dance repertoire, and a live snake can be worked into the show, either as a dedicated snake dance or as part of a roving set. A troupe of additional dancers is available where a bigger show is wanted. Based in Sydney, the act plays hens parties, birthdays, corporate events, product launches, weddings and clubs, with the aim of introducing non-Arabic audiences to the subtleties of the dance form.
