About this act
Eighteen pieces plus vocalists is a lot of band, and that's the point. Formed in 1998, KGB Big Band works out of the Barossa and plays across South Australia for weddings, corporate nights, milestone birthdays and anything else with a dance floor. The book is broad: swing and standards like Moonlight Serenade and My Funny Valentine, Latin through Girl From Ipanema and Black Magic Woman, funk with Superstition and Chameleon, and pop and rock from Here Comes The Sun to Route 66. The players are drawn from Adelaide's jazz scene. You'll need a decent stage, roughly 4 by 8 metres, two power outlets and an hour to set up beforehand. The band carries public liability insurance.
