Kim Collard

Kim Collard began his working career as a boilermaker and served as a WA police officer, later spending ten years in academia at Curtin University. He went on to found two of the country's largest Indigenous-owned businesses, Kulbardi and Kooya Australia Fleet Services, creating jobs for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal staff alike. In 2014 he established the Bibbulmun Fund, an Indigenous-led philanthropic initiative that has since supported charitable organisations across education, leadership, entrepreneurship and disaster relief for Aboriginal communities. He won the National NAIDOC Male Elder Award in 2024 and was a WA Australian of the Year nominee in 2025, and provides Welcome to Country as part of his work.
