Kim Kirkman
Solo · Based in Sunshine Coast
About this act
Over two hours of harp repertoire, all of it from memory, and a habit of arranging whatever else you ask for. Kim Kirkman has been playing professionally for more than thirty years on the Sunshine Coast, and the song list wanders happily across centuries: Pachelbel's Canon and Debussy's Clair de Lune next to Danny Boy, The Ash Grove and Planxty Irwin, then Fields of Gold, Here Comes the Sun and the Forrest Gump feather theme. Weddings, funerals and morning melodies are all regular work. The setup is about as simple as live music gets. Two minutes and a chair, and the room sounds different.
