Lötti’s Potion

Sometimes pretty, sometimes gritty is how the trio describe themselves, and it's accurate. Lötti's Potion is a Bayswater WA line-up of double bass (John Perry), violin (Erik Kowarski) and Suzie Thompson singing and playing ukulele. It starts from the blues and ranges from the 1940s to now: Etta James and Samantha Fish sit next to Neil Young, Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Coldplay and Radiohead, with a growing set of originals worked in among them. Suzie runs choirs and ukulele groups in the local community music scene, where she's known as the purple-haired ukulele lady. Erik comes from a classical violin background and has played folk-rock, techno and bush band music since. John has spent many years across jazz and folk, and plays piano in a big band too. It suits a festival stage as well as a social club or a private party where people want something worth listening to over dinner and drinks.
