Mambo Italiano is a floor show built around Italian song, with male and female singers who don't stay on the stage. They rove, they mingle, they hand out props, and the audience usually ends up joining in. The material runs from romantic classics through popular hits to a touch of opera, taking in songs associated with Dean Martin, Mina, Rocco Granata, Toto Cutugno, Massimo Ranieri, Gigliola Cinquetti, Patrizio Buanne and Lou Monte. Expect Mamma, That's Amore and Lazy Mary, plus a fair bit you won't see coming. Costumes are part of it. So is the noise a room makes when it recognises a song it hasn't heard in years.
