Mark Porter

Third generation musician, raised on the music that came out of the American Deep South. Mark Porter plays acoustic and Dobro slide guitar with a stomp board underfoot, and sings in a voice people keep comparing to Russell Morris. The material runs from Delta blues through Texas to Chicago and New Orleans, Robert Johnson through to Stevie Ray Vaughan, mixed with his own earthy originals and a folk edge. Raw, but never overplayed. He's performed at the Gympie Music Muster, Agnes Water Blues Roots and Rock, the Rotorua Blues Festival in New Zealand, the Festival of King Island in Tasmania and the Airlie Beach Festival of Music. He can bring his own gear, or work off a vocal mic, DIs and an amp for the Dobro. A four-piece blues band is available as well.
