Martinez

Three guitars, and a sound that runs jazz through flamenco and out the other side into improvisation. Martinez are a Sydney trio, bookable as a solo, a duo or the full three, with energy that carries a room without needing a rhythm section behind it. Their history is long: concerts at the Sydney Opera House as headliners and support across seven separate years, and festival sets at Byron Bay Bluesfest, Woodford, Thredbo Jazz, Cronulla Jazz, the Adelaide Guitar Festival, Brisbane Festival, The Rocks Aroma Festival and Darling Harbour Latin Fiesta. They represented Australia at the 2005 World Expo in Aichi, Japan, and returned in 2008 for a 27 show promotional tour of Tokyo. They've also shared bills with Santana, the Gypsy Kings, Buena Vista Social Club, Diana Krall and George Benson.
