Matt Lawler
About this act
Matt Lawler is a Boorloo based dancer and a graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. He trained first at the Kerry Gough Gotta Dance School in Perth before moving into full time study at WAAPA, where he was a soloist in Lee Searle's FACT MATTER and completed secondments with Enneagon Movement and Co3 Contemporary Dance Australia. His work since spans contemporary dance, youth arts and large commercial production, with several Perth entertainment companies and an ongoing connection to SLIDE Youth Dance Theatre on Larrakia Country. In 2025 he received Western Australian State Government funding for an international secondment with Trisha Brown Dance Company in New York, working in studio on the development of Searle's Time Again. He is currently contracted to Royal Caribbean International, performing in production shows aboard Enchantment of the Seas through August 2026.
