Matt Lawler

Kerry Gough Gotta Dance School in Perth is where Matt Lawler started, before full time training took him into the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. FACT MATTER by Lee Searle gave him a soloist feature during his studies, and secondments followed with Enneagon Movement, then separately with Co3 Contemporary Dance Australia. Contemporary work, youth arts and large scale commercial production make up the spread of his career since, and he still works with SLIDE Youth Dance Theatre, based on Larrakia Country in Darwin. A 2025 grant from the WA State Government sent him to New York, where he spent time in the studio with Trisha Brown Dance Company on Time Again, another Lee Searle work. He holds a contract with Royal Caribbean International, aboard Enchantment of the Seas, where his production show work runs to August 2026.
