Thirty years and more up and down the east coast, and Matt Toms has worked out what to play for whom. Smooth cocktail tunes, pub classics, roots, reggae and surf, or forgotten pop gems, all interpreted honestly rather than copied. At one of his gigs you might get Stevie Wonder followed by Spacey Jane, or Willie Nelson before Cage the Elephant, usually with some Hendrix, Jack Johnson, Bob Marley or Bowie in there too.
