Anthony Burke started out as a marriage celebrant, which is a decent apprenticeship in reading a room full of nervous people. These days he works Newcastle and beyond as an MC and motivational speaker, covering weddings, parties and corporate gatherings. His pitch to audiences is about taking chances and treating change as something to work with rather than survive. As an MC his job is quieter than that: keep the day easy, keep it moving, let the people it's actually about enjoy it. Setup is about as simple as it gets. Give him a microphone and he's away, though visuals can come along for a longer keynote or presentation. He doesn't work from a script. He'd rather watch the room and build the night from what's in front of him.
