Formed in 2015 around the songwriting of Peter Clarke, Brisbane's Mermaid Avenue blend country-rock, bluesy Americana, indie folk and alt country into a fluid take on indie rock. Indie Rock News named the band among ten indie and alt-rock artists worth hearing. Three albums have followed, with songs reaching finalist stages in global songwriting competitions across the past five years. That run of recognition has built steadily rather than arriving with a single release.
