Peter Clarke's songwriting is the centre of Mermaid Avenue, formed in Brisbane back in 2015. Scenestr described them as peddling a fluid brand of indie rock, country-rock to alt country, indie folk and bluesy Americana, and that covers most of it. Indie Rock News named them one of the 10 indie and alt-rock artists you should hear now. Three albums out so far, and their songs have been finalists in global songwriting competitions for the last five years.
