MICHELLE SMITH AND THE JAZZ HARP TRIO

Michelle Smith and the Jazz Harp Trio pairs Michelle’s harp with Dylan Hooper on tenor saxophone and Robin Murray on double bass. The unusual line-up moves from Latin and blues into restrained dinner and cocktail music. Michelle developed the concept after studying in Boston and exploring how saxophone and bass could sit around jazz harp. Dylan is a jazz performer and composer whose credits also include Perth Dance Music Awards with The Typhoons, a WAMI Award with Boom! Bap! Pow! and theatre work with Barking Gecko. Robin studied jazz performance at WAAPA and has toured with orchestras and artists including James Morrison, Kate Ceberano, Fred Wesley and Allen Vizzutti.
