Miles To Go Band

Fremantle multi-instrumentalist and vocalist David Hyams leads this band, and the line-up is a proper spread of Western Australian players: Dana Ogle on percussion, jazz-funk bassist Manoli Vouyoucalos, classical cellist Jennifer Tingley, John Reed on cittern and Stuart Patterson on wood flute and whistles. The Celtic roots are deep but the writing is new, which is a harder trick than it sounds. Fairbridge Festival Artistic Director Steve Barnes called them a refreshing combination of imaginative new material with deep respect for source traditions, and said there is nothing else quite like them in Australia. Festivals, corporate functions and private events all suit the band.
