Mutable Objects

Funk from the 1970s is the starting point for this Brisbane act, with acts such as Kool and the Gang, Parliament, Funkadelic and The Meters as early reference points before the sound mutates into something looser. Fully improvised, polytonal and polyrhythmic playing drives the performance, with invention in the room carrying more weight than a fixed set list.
